The world is waiting: politicians please step up and show leadership to stop global warming

The Summit on Climate Change  held at 22nd of September 2009 at the United Nation’s Headquarters in New York gathered the leaders around to world to pace up the negotiation process for the Copenhagen meeting. The Secretary General of the UN urged the leaders to take the necessary actions that will lead to deal that delivers the following:

1. Enhanced action to assist the most vulnerable and the poorest to adapt to the impacts of climate change;
2. Ambitious emission reduction targets for industrialized countries;
3. Nationally-appropriate mitigation actions by developing countries with the necessary support;
4. Significantly scaled-up financial and technological resources; and
5. An equitable governance structure.
